I recently finished reading
The Help by Kathryn Stockett, which has gotten lots of publicity with the big movie starring Emma Stone and other big names like Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer. Overall, I thought it was a pretty good book and the plot was quite easy to follow despite the many subplots. However, I do admit that I did begin to wonder when it was going to end about half way through. I also didn't really like the many references to
To Kill a Mockinbird by Harper Lee and how many have also compared the two.
And while it is important to give up-and-coming authors a chance, some people just don't understand that
To Kill a Mockinbird is a classic and will continue to keep its position for decades to come.
